Diablo Cody to script Evil Dead reboot

*Just yesterday it was announced that newbie director Federico Alvarez
would be helming the _Evil Dead_ reboot.*

Today, Sam Riami’s production company Ghost House Pictures have
confirmed it, while revealing more about who’s involved in the
project.

Apparently, Alvarez impressed Raimi with his short film _Panic
Attack_, and wrote the reboot script alongside Rodo Sayagues.

Relatively more experienced _Jennifer's Body_ writer Diablo Cody is
now having a stab at the screenplay, giving it a buff up (and no doubt
shoving in a few tongue-twisters of her own).

“We are committed to making this movie and are inspired by the
enduring popularity and enthusiasm for the _Evil Dead_ series,”
say producers Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell.

“We can’t wait to scare a new generation of moviegoers
using filmmaking techniques that were not available to us thirty years
ago as well as Fede bringing a fresh eye to the film’s original
elements.”

The only bit of bad news? It seems that series star Campbell is only
involved so far in a producing capacity – but you can bet
he’ll pitch up in a well-timed cameo.
